Canvas Plaza del Alamillo, Madrid. The Alamillo square is located in the Alfonso VI Street. Today is a Little square, but in the times of the Muslim domination it was an essential place, because it was the gateway to the city. In this square, it was located the City Hall of Madrid.
Its name owes to the poplar which was in the center of the square and that was pulled up by a hurricane.
The square is an irregular square, with abundant vegetation and wooden benches. It is a rectangular square and of reduced dimensions, that conserves medieval parts. It consists of buildings from the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, built at three and more heights.
